The efficiency of windows and Doors has changed dramatically over the past 100 years. The materials have changed just as much as the way they are made. From single pane to triple pane windows there are literally 100s of types of windows out there & almost as many manufacturers. If you are nostalgic & energy efficiency doesn’t matter to you, you can even still have a single pane window made for that hunting cabin in the woods. From vinyl to wood replacement windows there are a variety of windows & features for saving you money on your energy bill to making less maintenance a priority.
Doors have advanced just as much as windows. The materials available today include steel, fiberglass, other composites, and of course good old fashion wood. Both windows and doors today come in a variety of styles & colors. With advances in technology & science, manufacturers have been able to color materials that could not be colored effectively in the past.
When looking at replacement windows and doors not all windows & doors are created equal. There are several things to look at. Warranty by the manufacturer should be important in your decision. The raw materials as well as components that make up the window are important as well. All these materials & components can have a big impact on price as well. Also when you consider all the options for windows and doors these can have an effect on the outcome of price, the more features you get the more expensive. After you have chosen your windows & doors you have to be choosy when it comes to your contractor. The best windows and doors on the market can be junk if installed by a substandard contractor.

2.) Make a rough drawing of the perimeter of the house and measure the windows in order starting with the lower level and working your way up to the second level if applicable. We will soon make available a video showing exactly how to measure your windows and doors.
